Ycity 2009 – dream it, build it, be it!

Ycity is a temporary city build in a factory hall in Roskilde 20-26 July 2009. A city inhabited by 150 young people from Europe. A city based on the citizen’s dreams and personal participation.

You show up with an idea about a change of your city, your life or our society. In Ycity 2009 you test your idea through a project. Together with others you develop and explore how to bring your idea to life! It could be a project about making a film or creating inputs to how we stop global warming.

When you leave Ycity 2009, you will bring home 1 future action that can make the world a better place. That way Ycity continues in your city.

Ycity 2009 last 7 days from Monday to Sunday and it is divided into 3 phases:

• The Rise of the City, where the focus in on the establishment of the relations between the citizens and the establishment of the city.
• City Life, where there are a lot of parallel actions in the different projects. To gather the actions in the city there will be daily City-meetings.
• The Beginning of the Glocal Change, a common workshop Saturday, where you reflect on what you have learned and on this basis create an action, which you will take with you home. An action performed local in a global context.

Für die Anreise werden ca. 14 Euro für die Fährüberfahrt fällig. In Dänemark wartet dann ein Bus auf uns, der uns nach Roskilde bringt und auch am 26. wieder zurück zum Fährhafen fährt.
